About Capriccio! Youth Choirs
2011-2012 was the inaugural season of Capriccio Youth Choirs, auditioned ensembles for students entering grades 4-9, and we are now expanding through grade 12. Capriccio! Youth Choirs is founded by Larry Griffin, the Artistic Director for Capriccio! Vocal Ensemble, and directed by Alyson Bates, Susan Gooch, and Melanie Smith. Choir members are from all parts of central Ohio seeking a choral opportunity that promotes a varied repertoire and performance opportunities while incorporating sight-singing skills, knowledge in music theory, and improving vocal practices.
Capriccio! Youth Choirs debuted with the Central Ohio Symphony and Ohio Wesleyan University Choral Arts Society in the spring of 2011. For the 2011-2012 inaugural season, Capriccio! Youth Choirs performed with the Capriccio! Vocal Ensemble adult choir in December of 2011, guest performed with Ballet Met of Columbus for multiple Nutcracker performances as well as for the Worthington City Martin Luther King Celebration, and wrapped up their season in May of 2012 with a combined concert with Molto Capriccio. Rehearsals: Wednesdays 7:00-8:00 pm at Worthington Killbourne High School (1499 Hard Road, Columbus OH 43235)
Tuition Cost: $200 ($50 due upon registration at your audition) Financial assistance and sibling discounts available.
